Kelly Clarkson Pauses Las Vegas Residency to Support Her Family Amid Ex-Husband’s Illness

Pop superstar Kelly Clarkson has announced a temporary halt to her Las Vegas residency, putting her August shows on hold to care for her children and their father, who has been battling illness.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media on Wednesday, August 6, Clarkson wrote,

“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.”

The Grammy-winning singer, 43, expressed her regret to fans, saying,

“I appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.”

Which Shows Are Postponed?

Clarkson’s upcoming performances on August 8–9 and August 15–16 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace have been postponed. Her next scheduled shows will take place on November 7–8 and 14–15.

Ticket Refunds or Future Use

Fans who purchased tickets for the August dates have the option to keep their tickets for new shows in July and August 2026, or request a refund within a 30-day window. Caesars Colosseum confirmed these details following Clarkson’s announcement.

Clarkson's Personal Struggles

Kelly shares two children – River Rose, 11, and Remy Alexander, 9 – with her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. The couple ended their nearly seven-year marriage in March 2022.

Earlier in July, the singer also had to cancel her opening show on July 4 due to a strained voice from intense rehearsals. She reassured fans then that she was committed to giving them the best experience possible, calling the show a “very intimate and extraordinary” project.

Fan Reactions and Support

Many fans have responded with love and understanding, praising Clarkson for prioritizing family during a difficult time. Her authenticity and transparency have strengthened her connection with supporters, especially during her emotional Vegas performances.

A Look Ahead

Despite the setbacks, Clarkson remains committed to her residency and promises a powerful return in November. Her current residency, titled “Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions,” features a cozy stage setup and powerhouse performances of hits like “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You),” “Because of You,” and “Since U Been Gone.”
